Ok so I have Windows Vista and it has been bugging me that I couldn't play this game online. I would always get an error 2: Unable to load network device or something like that. I've tried almost everything I could to get it working. I then came across the 'Games' menu and saw NR2003. I right clicked on it and went to customize. I then went into edit the first play button and saw a tab called compatibility, and there it was: Run this program in compatibility mode for... followed by a list of modes (like XP SP 2, Windows 2000 and more). I chose Windows XP (Service Pack 2), checked the run as administrator check box and opened the game, and presto! Online! I'm not sure anyone reported having any problems with Vista and NR2003 but I was having problems and that is how I fixed it.

Not true. I've been running Vista since day 1 of it's release. I have had zero issues with compatibility regarding N2003, BF2, BF2142, CoD2, and other games. Have yet to run anything in WinXP compat mode. I run my system with dual boot...Vista 32 & 64 bit. Again, no issues, online or not.
